Forgot the Grey Fish Paper A12

Hello,

I have read a few topics with similar threads and their seems to be either a case of it doesn't matter it works anyway, or some discussion of lifting the transformer out in terminology i don't understand.

Basically I've made the preamp, but haven't done any of the tests. When tidying up i came across the fish paper. Doh.

What should i do and can you attempt to describe in layman's terms how to sort the problem

I found this on a 'forgot the fish paper' thread concerning an n72, but i don't understand what it means:

"Try wicking up as much solder as you can before you try anything else. I suspect you'll be able to get the tabs up without too much trouble"

Also could you explain what the fish paper does (again in layman's terms)

The paper insulator prevents the transformer case from shorting exposed pads on the PC board. If you've already installed the transformer, you may be able to open a gap by carefully prying with a small screwdriver while re-flowing the solder joints. If you have no experience with board rework, take it to a local electronics repair tech and explain the problem.

I made this same mistake. What a royal pain to remove and correct, resulting in my only send-back to Tim.
