First seventh circle build

Postby guitron » Tue Jun 16, 2009 3:09 am

I just finished building 2 A12 modules and just wanted to say how fun it was. I only had experience building some guitar pedals and doing some circuit bending, so this was a larger project for me. It turned out to be very simple though and I had a great time putting them together.
The first module took me 6 hours and the second took me 2hrs 40mins. Both tested and powered up perfect the first go.
I have two API 312 pres to compare to, and although they do sound a little different, to my ears the A12 pres have the same sort of character, and they definitely hold their own. I might even like them better, but I need more time with them.
I want to thank you guys for putting together such a quality product.
I know you have no plans on doing a passive EQ kit, but I think it would be killer if you did. Even if it had to be a different enclosure/power supply, I think it would sell great. I have no doubt you guys could do it very successfully. Pleeease??
Now it's time for me to start on my N72s!
Thanks again,
Ron

Just got through building an A12 myself.. It went together in a couple of hours as well.. I really dig the way you packaged everything. All the resistors together and in BOM order made it very fast to assemble.
I did run into 2 caps listed as ceramic in the assembly instructions but were actually electrolytic. The PCB is properly marked for them so it shoundnt be an issue to anyone.

Your dream may end up coming true at some point:
