Not sure if it's possible for you Tim but for us Canadian customers it would be good if the invoice only reflected the amount we paid.
I took this up with UPS and they denied any wrong doing and after several emails back and forth and I finally got this conveniently enough on the day it was too late:
UPS:
"Your shipper has provided two values for this shipment. One is the Declared Value for carriage, in the amount of $728 USD, and the other is Declared Value for Customs, in the amount of $1054 USD. The Declared Value for Customs is the amount used to rate your shipment.
Please note, today, July 14th, is the last day to have a re-rate done with a corrected commercial invoice from your shipper.
For your reference, UPS can correct any customs related information on your entry documents for a shipment valued at less than $1,600. The error must be identified on or before the 10th of the month following the shipping date.
If the declared value used is incorrect, the shipper may fax an amended invoice to the attention of Rerates at 1-506-447-3869. The invoice must indicate the tracking number and the corrected value. The deadline for this option is July 14th. A $5.00 fee applies for this service.
