Power Harness Gauge?

What's a good wire to use to create the power harness - planning ahead to a full system? 20AWG, 22? Is there a ribbon cable which is appropriate?

Hook-up wire

I use 20AWG stranded wire, GC Electronics catalog no. 14-420-1D46.
