Testing compressor question

Postby skatermanbob » Mon Aug 27, 2012 4:24 am

Hey everyone. i just had a quick question. I put the board together just fine, but when I was testing it at step 29 and 30, the behavior is backwards than what it is in the manual. So when I throw sw 1 to the right, I see 0V at D18 not 17. Same goes if I throw the sw 1 to the left, I see 0 V at D17 not D18... Should I be concerned? The voltages seemed alrigtht +18.06 and -18.3v at the test points...

Another issue. The testing of the B16 is great outside of the chassis. When I put it in the chassis and close it up, the unit will no longer power on. I'm assuming that something is shorting out on the case. The only thing I can see that might be touching the case is the side of the transformer. Might this be causing my issues?

It's not the transformer.

Forgot to post a followup. It was one of the FET heat sinks grounding out on the case. Thanks for your help!

What size allen wrench fits the small set screw for the smallest knobs? I cannot find one on a set that is small enough!
