SCA J99 Experience

Postby mws » Sat Mar 19, 2011 6:25 pm

Tim,
I'm an newb who built 2 SCA j99's. I must say that they went together rather easily using all the info supplied and reading the J99 info on the forum, answered a lot of questions I had before I started.
Voltage and bias adjustment went very smooth.
I'm very satified with the exellent sound and performance of these preamps. Tons of gain. They work very well with ribbon mics.
I also wanted to say that when I recieved the J99's I found them be very well packaged.
This has been a very positive experience for me and I plan to invest in other SCA preamp modules in the future.
Thanks,
Mike :D :D :D

Ditto on everything. I find the J99 design to be fantastic, especially with the latest addition of biasing adjustments. DC offset is never a good thing in an audio signal and these preamps are very good at eliminating it virtually altogether. They are my go-to modules for many tracks, especially overheads, room mics, and anything coming out of a DI.
