Advice on best pre for solo acoustic guitar?

I know this is a matter of taste and I'm about to order at least a stereo pair of one of the types you have. I have used a 1073 with my guitar plugged in direct and that sounded great so I am familiar with the N72 sound and I like it. I have heard about the C84 being like a Millenia. Uncolored sound for acoustics. The J99 sounds pretty interesting and seems like a good all around option with "some color". I have tried Api before and it was ok but didn't floor me on acoustic. I plan on using mics and direct sounds for the solo acoustic recording. I will eventually have all of the SCA pre in the rack but just wondering what might be the best first choice for a strereo pair for acoustic as well as maybe the best all around pair as I will be doing voc, bass, electric guitar as well. TIA for any and all advice or links/ posts that I may have missed. Mark

my c84's are my go to's for acoustic, personally.

2 c84's + 2 sm 81s = acoustic guitar goodness.

Great thanks for the reply. Sm81 huh. I never tried the I have tried 451's which sounded nice you or anyone else ver tried the modded octava's.
