J99's make whole rack buzz

Postby tazman » Thu Dec 27, 2007 11:56 am

So I went to install the 2 J99's and all of a sudden all the pres that come after them (farther from the PS) buzz and the buzzing changes as I turn the gain knob on the J99's. I tried disconnecting one J99 and then the other and either one is causing the issue. This is fast becoming a nightmare...

And as I move the wire harness wires the noise changes (gets louder and quiter and the tone of the noise changes). I bought the wire harness pre built from Tim.

Only the J99's so far seem to be causing all this. A friend of mine (who has built 2 J99's) is giving me a hand. He's puzzled with the BIASing as well. BTW. With the AD797 the values move in parallell up and down so you can never get them close to each other.

Anyway, with 2 N72's all is quite, we are about to add all 4 A12's and see if they are all quite as well. If they are, then something must be uo with the J99's. Any suggestions or toughts?
