Jensen load isolators : proper part # for L3 & L4?

I may have occasion while doing location recording to have to drive a microphone signal through 150 to 200 ft of snake cable. I am interested in perhaps installing the 2 proper components for this sort of application.

I have found the following searching for "Jensen Load Isolator" the 'JT-OLI-3'.

Is this the proper part for this application?

Must one purchase from Jensen directly or are there other available vendors?

(slightly later....) After doing a search for Jensen JT-OLI-3 I see that this load isolator part is utilized on L1 & L2 for the A12 and J99.

(afterwards....) Just noticed that both the online BOM for the C84 and the BOM I received for the C84 state that 2 Jensen JT-OLI-3's are included.

(penultimate....) noticed in the C84 assembly instructions that the load isolators are not included in this kit.

(heading to bed....) Checked out the assembly instruction for both the A12 and the J99. The Jensen load isolators are not included in this kit and are optional. No mention of load isolators as all with regards to the N72.

Call or e-mail Jensen. I doubt you'll find it cheaper elsewhere.

It's the only load isolator for the application. If you're interested in learning to wind inductors, you can always make your own.

I did a little bit of research on the net with regards to winding inductors oneself. It really doesn't sound like all that complicated of an affair.

As I don't have a DMM just yet and really wanted to get started on my C84 I just decided to go ahead and order some from Jensen. I got them for 3.93 a piece and decided to order 12 as I am planning on getting another C84 along with 2 J99's and 2 A12's. Those 12 should cover all 6 modules.

From your post, is appears the mic is feeding the long cable run of 150-200 Feet - correct? If so, the Load Isolation Inductors won't do much IIRC. These are for driving the Preamp's OUTPUT over long distances (not the INPUT). Having the Preamp sitting on stage might be a better idea if you are having issues with mic signal losses (this way, you are sending a line-level signal down the long cable). This can be a hinderance for gain setting, etc...

But most mics should still work OK down a 100-200' snake...

Thanks for the feedback. I havn't had occasion yet of feeling like I'm experiencing signal loss. I primarily do location recording so I'm more thinking; "one day down the road I may have to drive an audio signal down 200 ft of snake or so", and wanted to have the buildout I did of the preamps prepared for that.

I havn't had occasion to need it yet, but who knows. I'd feel really trepidatious about putting a preamp up on stage with musicians but if you gotta do whatchew gotta do.
