D3 Diode Problem

My A12 pre is completely finished... except for one "small" issue. I soldered the diode at D3 improperly and in trying to remove it destroyed one of the sockets (one the "white" marked side) in a way that i am no longer able to solder anything into D3. If i leave this out will my pre operate? What should I do?

Definitely not. Don't even bother applying power until you correct the problem.

What should I do?

The usual way to repair such a problem is to scrape the solder mask off of 1/4" or so of the trace leading up to the damaged pad and tin the exposed copper. Bend the component lead so that it lies directly on top of the prepared section of trace, trim it to length, and then carefully solder it in place. You may have to use a new part to have enough lead to make this work. Obviously, this takes a lot more care than ordinary assembly, so you may want to get a local electronics repair tech to help.
