aaaaaaaargh molex

Got my A12 kit in the mail today. Started on it and before I knew it I had the whole thing together in one sitting. Took about 6 hours. I didn't even feel like I was working that fast... triple checked everything, measured each resistor with a multimeter, etc. I am really confident in my work and it looks nice!

THEN I got to the part where I had to hook up the molex connector to the power supply to test. While I was crimping I damaged one of the metal contacts. I put it in the connector to see if it would still "grab" and snapped it on to the molex header 'just to see.' WELL, when I was removing it the $%&* fragile plastic tab broke off. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to go to the electronics store to see if they have a replacement.

The kit was great though! Easy to build, hopefully it works, can't wait to test!

oh yeah, does anyone have a digikey or other part number for these molex connectors?

Or, basically, what should I ask for when I go to the electronics shop tomorrow?

well I had no problem getting the replacement part and getting it back together. Finally finished it today. Everything specs out right with the multimeter on the first go 'round but I haven't put any audio signal through it yet. I need to prepare for the possible heartache of it not working! :D

works totally like a charm the first time. Fired right up. Sounds great. Quiet as a mother and gain to spare. Haven't had time to get to know it yet but I did a lil side-by-side with my digi002's onboard pres and they sound tiny and brittle and character-less in comparison. Just as I expected.
