Power supply died mid-session after years of success

Postby soundinspace » Wed Nov 08, 2017 6:20 am

My chassis is all full and has been for several years now with two N72 modules and two A12 modules that I built plus four A12 modules that came assembled. Ever since the initial build in 2012 we have had nothing but great success with this unit. No problems, sounds great! But then yesterday during a session I started hearing some odd noises, we were recording a podcast though and I thought the noises could have been lip smacks or someone playing with their pen, but as the noises became more frequent I began suspecting something was up. And then suddenly there was a loud POP and the audio began quickly fading in volume. There was a little high pitched whirring sound and then no more sound. I looked over at the unit and all the lights were out. I tried swapped the power cable and plugging it in to a different outlet but the unit would still not turn back on. Seems pretty clearly like the power supply died, but any suggestions would be great. Any ideas? Thanks y'all!
