Full PS02 kit?

Postby murp » Thu Nov 04, 2004 5:40 pm

Hi all...

I noticed there are no full PS02 kits available - any ideas why? I'm in New Zealand, and the electronics shops here aren't the greatest, and to be honest, I can't really be bothered amassing all the necessary parts myself anyway...

I'm a reasonable solder-smith, so I'd much prefer a full kit, cos then I can build it myself, but not have to shop for the parts.

I'm looking to build at least two A12 kits in the near future, but I'd like to get this sorted first.

thanks,

matt

At $169 US assembled, you're much better off letting Tim build it, in my opinion.

I thought the whole idea of doing this was because it's fun to build stuff from scratch... :) anyways, the question still stands - I'd still like to be able to build it myself, even if I only save a buck or two...

Well, this isn't quite from scratch, a power supply is pretty boring, and it's probably better to leave the the high voltage AC stuff to a pro.

The preamps are fun.

It's simply a matter of volume. We'd have to charge practically as much for a full kit as we do for the assembled supplies to make it worth our while. If it's just a supply you need, you can save a few dollars by sourcing all the parts yourself. If you're buying a complete kit with chassis and preamp, you'll do better with the assembled supply.
