PS01, original N72, and moving forward

Postby unbelievable luck » Mon Jan 26, 2009 12:47 pm

hello all.

i have an original chassis with a PS01 and a pair of original N72's. i would like to start adding some more cards to the chassis, so my questions are:

do i have to ditch the old PS01 for a new PS03?
or anyway to "convert" a PS01 into a PS03?
if the answer is you need an all new PS03, are there parts on the old PS01 that can be pulled, or is that not even worth the effort?
will the N72's still work with the PS03?

thanks very much.

If you want to add only N72s to your existing chassis, you don't have to replace the PS01. If you want to add any other module, you'll need a PS03.

No.

The PS03 is only available as an assembled unit, so pulling parts from the PS01 isn't helpful.

If they don't have on-board regulators, you'll have to add a 2W 75 ohm resistor to make them work with the PS03.
