Connecting Chassis Ground Wire

Postby mdmitch2 » Mon Dec 29, 2008 9:29 am

I'm a little confused about the ground wire -- according to the instructions, it should be attached to the "long screw" and affixed with a Kepps nut. I gather from the instructions (and BOM) that the long screw should go into the bottom of the chassis and through the mu metal shield. My chassis came pre-built, and there was no 3/8 inch screw included as far as I can tell. All of the screws I have are 1/4 inch. There was also no Kepps nut included.

The instructions seems a little outdated as they also indicate screws going into the back of chassis, through a tab on the mu-metal shield. My shield has no tab, and there are no holes in the back for these screws depicted in the instructions.

So, I'm wondering if there is an updated way of mounting the ground wire, or if the needed parts were simply not included with my order? Or, is there an updated set of instructions that I have overlooked?

Thanks!

The latest version of the chassis does not require a separate ground wire. Just make sure the power supply mounting screws are snug and that you measure a short circuit between the ground lug of the AC inlet and the chassis. We'll update the instructions as time permits.
