Racked up 2Xc84s, power light goes dim when C84s are plugged.
It actually goes dimmer and goes brighter in a rhythm.
I have not tried plugging mikes in it yet.

DOe sanyone know why this could be?

Unplugging C84s give me steady power light.

I have not received any answer from anyone.
I left a message to Seventh Circle, emailed to Tim no luck.
So, am I stuck with thousands of dollars worth non-working preamps?

May this was not for me...

Instructions on cabling power harness and PS03 is no where nearly as intuitive as the C84KF or J99 instructions...
I would be the perfect guy to know since I do not much about electronics design.

Clearly, you have a short somewhere. Do both C84s cause the same symptom? Are any components on the C84 becoming noticably warm, especially the voltage regulators or power transistors? Are you certain the wiring harness is correct?

Yes, they do.

I have not let it on for long enough to check that.
I have turned the power off as soon as I saw the light flashing.
So, I do not know...

tpryan \$m[1]:Are you certain the wiring harness is correct?

Well, that is my first candidate since it does it with both C84s.
Here is the pic;

And... Both kits did not use this resistor(meaning it is extra for both kits and no place to put it.;

How could I check for the correct wiring for harness without actually ]disassembling the wires?

The correct harness wiring is simply pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc. You check it with an ohmmeter.

which 1 is pin 1?

Well, it doesn't really matter which is pin 1. What matters is that all the corresponding pins are connected.

OK. That is what I thought but was just confirming.

I know this is an old post. but just in case someone else has this problem and comes on here looking.

I had the same problem and i accidently put C37 in backwards, the positive and negative sides reversed. Fix this and the power light should stop blinking

I suppose the same could happen if you put C33 in backwards (1500uF 50V capacitor)
