Excellent! I'm about 10 minutes from completing and racking my two C84s.

Do the LEDs on yours light up??

Did I say 10 minutes???

I'm all finished now. There was a problem with the gain knob. For some reason there was already a stop pin in the 4 spot, so I could only go from 4 to 12! Go figure. That's all taken care of though. Everything looks great but I won't be able to try these until Saturday.

My LEDs did not light up. I wonder what they do in the circuit.

It is not good if they light up.

Sorry I haven't replied back with results sooner. If I had to characterize the C84 in one word, I would say "sterile." In fact, that's what I said instantly when comparing it to the N72 (mic'd up Mesa DualRec.) That's not a bad thing at al; - these are still awesome preamps. On overheads, they were great. Highly detailed and no coloration. I'm looking forward to using them for background acoustic guitars, hand perc, etc.

Now I have to decide what to get next: A12 or J99....
