A12 simliar to API 312?

Hi Everyone-My first post here. I am interested in building some preamps very soon. I read another place on the net that one of the preamps offered here is based on the API 312 preamp. I figured the A12 was probably the one based on its number. Is that correct? I'd also like to build some N72's. Thanks!

i'm also wondering about this as well. i just found this site and have been considering a rack of API pre's for awhile now. i'd much rather build my own, so here i am.
