Hey there, just got my first A12 working last night, with only two mistakes...backwards filter cap and the whole R19, L1, L2 conundrum... I would like to point out that my copy of the directions didn't include anything about R19, L1, or L2. You can see them in the pictures, but there didn't seem to be any written references. Not a huge deal, as I found the answer within about two minutes of reading on the forums. Maybe if you included the funky resistor-looking jumpers on the BOM along their intended destinations, it would eliminate a lot of that confusion.

Also, in step 9, the directions say, in yellow, that you need to install a jumper at J1, where it specifically says (in yellow) on the previous page that you do not need them. I'm assuming that that's a typo and should say either J3 or J4, or maybe pin 1 if J3, or something. Anyways, I just followed the picture and my A12, including phantom power, seems to be working fine.

These are just a few nitpicky suggestions..all in all I really like the design of the unit (although I hate those freakin Molex connectors!) and though I haven't had a chance yet to try the preamp out on anything, thus far the sound I got while testing is promising.

Thanks Tim!

The resistors aren't called out in the assembly instructions, but L1, L2, and R19 are line item 23 in the BoM.

That should read "A jumper must be installed at J3 to complete the phantom power circuit."
