Incorrect instructions or I am confused!!!

Postby tazman » Sat Nov 10, 2007 7:55 pm

I am tying to test my first A12, but I can't understand a few things:

1. Item 33 says to connect PS03 J2 pin 1 to A12 J7 J3, pin1, pin2 to ... On J3 I have the jumper from step 9, so what should I do?

2. How can I tell the pins on U1? They are not marked.

3. Lastly, I turned R25 and R29 many times and never got a sowft click, is that ok (I am sure it was more than 25 times)

Also, Item 9. It shows the header on Jumper J1, J2 in the pic, yet it says they are not needed. I installed those at J3 and J4, is that incorrect? They are 3 legged so they wouldn't fit at J3 and J4. Should they have jumpers as shown the picture? Will that provide phantom power? I think something is wrong in the instructions

Thanks,

Roberto

That's a typo. As you can see from the schematic, J7 is the power connector, not J3.

2. How can I tell the pins on U1? They are not marked.

On the board, the power supply pins are labeled "+B" and "-B", in accordance with the schematic. PGND is connected to pin 4. If you have an SC25, the labels on the op-amp match the signals at the socket.

3. Lastly, I turned R25 and R29 many times and never got a sowft click, is that ok (I am sure it was more than 25 times)

Like it says in step 32, Turn R25 and R29 counter-clockwise 25 full turns or until you hear a soft click with every turn. Whichever comes first is fine.

That's a photo of a T15 board which has the same jumpers but different numbering. Apart from the silkscreen, they look and function the same.

Cool, thanks. I got one working and am about to finish calibrating the second one. Hopefully this afternoon I will get to test them on some vox and guitar :D
