Signal flow problem

Postby chemical32winter » Mon May 14, 2007 8:04 pm

Okay, so I just finished assembling the A12 I did all the checks, im getting good voltages and everything. Installed it and all my leds turn on (from power supply and on the A12 circuit board.) BUT...I plug a microphone in and I'm getting nothing, not even a surge when i flip the 48V switch. Any ideas of what could be wrong or what to check? Thanks SO much!

What did you install at L1 and L2?

nothing, it said it was optional, and the parts were not included. should there be something there?

Like it says in step 8, install the isolators if you need them, "otherwise, solder jumpers in their place." You should have a pair of 0 ohm jumpers that look like resistors with a single black band. If you can't find them, simply use some hookup wire instead.

would it ever hurt?

As far as the 0ohm resisters, would it ever HURT to put them in L1 and L2? It seems like if they are included and not using them might hurt something, why not save a step and just install them right away before testing etc?

yay or nay?

I'm in the process of doing 5 A-12's right now. This info would be very useful. Would it ever be a bad idea to install the 0 ohm jumpers that look like resistors?

No, they won't hurt anything at L1 and L2. That's why they're included in the kit.

sorry

Yeah, I guess I was just a little confused as to:
1. Why they are optional

2. What differences it might make sound-wise to leave them out or install them.

Thanks again.
