Last week I built an A12 from a full kit. Assembly was simple, under three hours, including checking all resistors and all but the biggest caps with a meter before placing them in the board. Kit was perfect, nothing missing, nothing extra.
Today, the Avedis 1122 opamp arrived, so it was time to fire it up. Took a few minutes to set the voltages, chose +/- 18Vdc, adjusted the offset to 0 after warmup.
Popped it in the chassis, connected to my Digi 002, plugged in a Studio Projects B1 mic and...
Perfect. This thing sounds great. I haven't done a comparison against the J99 and N72 yet, but it's defnitely another winner.
