Connecting power to a12 with alt PS

Postby AudioguyII » Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:59 pm

Hi,
I would like to connect my neve PSU to the A12 to test it, it is a Power One HA24, I would like to know to which pins on the A12 connector J7 I need to connect my leads to. And which ones.
Thank you for your help.

Also... as stated in the instuctions, I tested pins 1 and 2 and also pins 2 and 3 to see if there was a short, well I get no reading at all. as if circuit is completely open, Is that okay?

Once again,
Thanks

The A12 requires a bi-polar power supply design while the Neve uses a single positive voltage design. I am unfamiliar with the power supply you mention, but it is my belief that there is no way to properly use this supply for your intended purpose.

Thanks for the help, when you say bipolar, do you mean 30V and 48 V for phantom? I was just trying to use it without phantom power for now...

Nope, the SCA pres require both a positive and a negative supply (+30V and -30V) as well as the +48 for phantom power. Take a look at the PS03 specs for more info.
