-I have 2 J99s I just finished. I bought the Hairball Audio 990 kits. I took my time and everything went well. The only weird thing is the 1st three steps on the gain are very loud, like unusably loud. I already went back and checked every resistor value, and everything is good. There are no bridged solder joints, all the voltages have been set (I got the 24v Hairball kit), the biasing has been done, and the jumpers are just like the instructions say to set for 1200 ohms. Don't get me wrong, they sound amazing. Clear as a bell with no hiss or hum or anything you don't want. The phantom, phase reverse and trims work fine on both. But, they both have the same weird problem. Thoughts?

Are you sure you got the pin in the right hole?

It was the stop pins. I fixed them both and now they are perfect. Thanks for the input.
