LL1538 vs. LL1538XL

K&K is down to only 1 XL transformer - with new ones not expected until late February.

Any comments on the need for the extra +3dB level capability of the XL.

I haven't done any listening comparisons between these two, but as you know the 1538XL will allow higher levels at the same distortion numbers as the 1538.
