Can I use a pair of sc25's in my j99?

As some other threads have noted, John Hardy seems to be pretty back logged. I've been waiting about 2 months for a pair of 990's. When I eventually get them they'll definitely go into my j99, but until then can I use a pair of sc25's that I already have to get j99 up and running? (I know the website says you can use api 2520's and other available opamps). I just want to get this thing tested & working while I have a little free time from work.

The SC25s will work fine, but won't be as quiet and will produce slightly more distortion than the JH990Cs.
