Switchable opamps/transformers?

As there are a number of different opamps that can be used with the J99, would it be possible to design a switchable opamp solution, so that you could install two or more different opamps onto a switchable daughter board, and then switch between the different opamps to give different sounds?

As the output transformer is optional, can you somehow have it so it can be switched in or out?

On the J99 (and the upcoming A12), the op-amps are socketed, which makes for fairly simple swapping. Any op-amp with an API 2520 pinout will fit on the boards, but we've only done extensive testing with the AD797 (mounted on the included daugherboard) and the Hardy 990C. I'd think you'd be asking for trouble with any switchable arrangement.
