input impedances??

Postby deadboy » Sat Apr 16, 2005 1:48 am

Hi everyone

I bought the j99 kit a few weeks back and I am almost done with everything. I have been going pretty slow, just about 1/2 hour after work everyday. But I have one question about the input impedance of this preamp? I will be using this with a Rode NTK and the output is 200ohms. Now I think I read correctly where the input imp. on the j99 is 1200ohms.
Now is that going to jive well with this mic? Also , there is a jumper for the optimal impedances and its between 100/50. Does that mean the NTK with its 200 ohm imp. going to be a little off from that?

Im sorry if this is a stupid question

The NTK works perfectly with the J99. I think the optimal input impedance for the NTK "is" 1200 ohms, so there is nothing to be concerned about. That mic is particularly sweet sounding when used with this preamp.
