I have a A12 and a J99 with John hardys and when ever I turn up the gain on both the j99 past 7-8 a buzz starts making its way into the signal and gets louder the more i turn up the gain. THe A12 starts doing this when the gain is at about 10.
Anybody have any idea why this happens?

You'll have to be a lot more specific about your situation before anyone can offer a useful suggestion. Are you experiencing the symptom with mics connected? Do you get it with all mics, or only certain ones? What if you test with the inputs terminated with a 150 ohm resistor? What are you monitoring through? What's adjacent to the preamps in your rack? Does the buzz change when you touch the controls or the front panel? Let us know what you find.

Well i get the buzz with or without the mics connected and with all mics. I don't know how to terminate with a 150 ohm resistor or were to put it but would be willing to try. I'm monitering through KRK monitors and an Alesis RA-100. The Chassis sits next to a computer monitor. I already tried moving the pre's away from the monitor and the buzz is still there. THere's no buzz when i touch the control panel. I only get that if i have the chasis opened up the preamp out of the box held with a panavise.
