Input impedance of SCA pres

Postby ohoen » Mon Feb 27, 2006 4:57 pm

Just curious about the input impedance of the various pres. I've built a pair of A12s and am thinking about a Royer R-121. They suggest 1.5k ohm or higher input impedance. Obviously I'm interested in the figure for the A12, but I'm looking forward to some C84s as well. Anyone know this? Any experience using the R-121 with SCA pres?
Thanks,
Oliver.

The input impedance of the A12 is just a bit over 1200 ohms. This is a little less than what Royer recommends, but I use my 121s with them all the time with excellent results.

Any idea about the AEA84 and AEA92 ? I think they are more quiet then the 121 from Royer.

I plan to test those 2 mic with A12 and N72. What do you think about it?

Thanks
Mathieu
