stevil \$m[1]:hi all.
im set on getting a kit amp for vocals, my mics a studio projects C1 (large condenser). and i record to my PC.
my vocals arent great so an amp that is "true to sorse" is not advisable for me. my vocal will need "help" from the amp but not overkill.
from reading the forum im guessing the N72 will be the consensus.
thanks , steve.
Steve,
The C1 is a very bright mic, and IMO the N72 is the "warmest" of the SCA preamps. So I think you're correct that it will be the consensus. It might mellow out your mic a bit. Plus the "neve" sound is a pretty classic deal for vocals.
But having said that, any of them will sound better than just about anything out there under $1000 per channel or so, and one of the others might be the "magic bullet" so you're going to have to get at least one of each!!!!
