My pre's

Postby Mewzishun » Sat Sep 11, 2010 1:47 am

Hey Tim and whoever else reads this...
I want to let you know that I've been using my N72's and A12's for a while now and I couldn't be happier. I really feel the quality of my recordings have defiantly stepped up a few notches.
I love the character of both preamp types and have used them on all basic rock instruments. I've used the N72's on kick, snare, guitar amps, mic'd bass cabs, and vocals all with excellent results. I love the thick, smooth and sweet feel of the N72's. As of late, I've mainly used the A12's on kick and distorted guitars and I’ve been equally happy. I'm planning on picking up a pair of C84's next month for OH and general acoustic duties. I'd love a J99 but it's out of my price range at the moment.
Thanks you Tim for gracing the recording industry with an incredible (yet affordable) product. Can't wait to see what else you guys come up with in the future. ~Peace mang :D

C84 comments

For overheads I don't think you could do better than the C84. I got a pair for just that purpose and for live stereo recording. Since then I've used them any time a SDC mic is called for. One other thing I noticed is that the C84 breaths some new life into the upper end of dynamic mics.

Well I was going to wait until next month, however, I decided to just ordered a pair of C84's after all. Besides, I have a project coming in about a couple weeks from now and wanted to throw these in the signal chain before they get here.
Can't wait to heat up that iron and smoke a half a pack of cigs putting these together. :)
