I am using a Presonus FP-10 interface along with my SCA Preamp. I have an XLR cable running from the SCA preamp out to the mic/line XLR connector on the FP-10. I have the gain on each of the FP-10’s preamps completely turned off. My question: Is this setup going to ‘color’ my SCA preamps with that of the preamps on the FP-10. Put another way, will I get the most out of my SCA modules with this setup or am I short-changing myself connecting them to FP-10’s preamps?
I have read that using the ¼ TRS line inputs is a better option for connecting a preamp to the FP-10; however, only two are available on the FP-10 and I need more. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and apologies if this topic was discussed elsewhere, I couldn’t find it.
