Beginner Electronics

I've been searching the web for a good place to learn about basic electronics to help me before my builds, any good places to start to make this easier? Or a good book to pickup at the local book store?

Also, for those of you who've done a couple of builds like these, have you gone on to try and do other DIY builds, like LA2A's, or anything?

On the positive side, you really don't need to know about electronics to build these kits. You need to be able to solder well and read a multimeter. That's about it.

The negative side is, you really don't learn much about electronics or audio based circuitry in building these kits, unless you already have a background.
