Anybody else having trouble on the web page for the pres?

Postby dkatz42 » Thu Oct 04, 2007 12:39 pm

I'm having issues getting past the main web page for the pres. If I click on the T15 link I can get to the BOM and schematics and such, but if I click on any of the other models it just reloads the main page. Anybody else seeing this?

I'm seeing it on three different Mac browsers, plus IE on XP (don't tell anyone I was running XP, hrmph...)

i can confirm the problems you have also appear on a winXP machine running an obscure web browser named SiteKiosk (touring in hamburg and using hotel`s computer..)

What happens if you force the browser to flush its cache? It's usually CTRL+SHIFT+Reload, check your browser docs. Try right-clicking below the menu buttons and select "reload this frame" or similar. I've tested on IE6, IE7, Firefox 2.0 and Safari for XP and can't duplicate these symptoms.

Tried emptying caches on both Safari and Camino 1.1 with no luck (both can be emptied from the application menu.)

Note that I see the same thing under IE and XP.

However, I note that if you hit the "products" button on the main page and then select one of the options below that, it works properly. If you click on the home page photos, or the titles above the photos, it only works properly for the T15. I think this much is universally broken.

However, I see why I didn't notice the real Safari incompatibility--the big buttons on the left don't appear at all under Safari 2.0.4, so with the other bug it becomes impossible to see this information on a Mac.

Safari for Windows is actually the Safari 3 beta, which appears to fix a bunch of niggling incompatibilities, but unfortunately is still to broken for me to use on my Mac.

I don't expect that the big buttons on the left ever displayed properly on the Mac, because they don't seem familiar. But the ability to click through the photos and titles has changed fairly recently.

Oh, you're quite right. The picture links are broken at the moment, but if you're not seeing the nav menu there are other issues. The only mac testing I'm doing, and am ever likely to do, is through http://www.browsrcamp.com. They're running Safari 2.0.4 and don't seem to have a problem with the nav menu. Make sure that your browser is allowing javascript for the site. Let me know what you find.

Interesting that browsrcamp gives different results. I don't get the menu bar on any of the nearly 30 Macs I manage that I've tried it on. Javascript is definitely on--the installs are completely vanilla.

It's not clear that the menu bar ever actually worked on Macs, as I don't believe I've ever seen it before. Weird.

But if you fix the picture links, things will go back to the way they used to, and hopefully this and many other things will be fixed under Safari 3--they do seem to have a lot of the compatibility issues fixed.

interestingly, it works properly on the iPhone. It must use a newer version of Safari...
