Bassist looking to build a box.

Looking for some advice on which pre's to go with. I have always heard that the Neve was the way to go for bass guitar. I record both electric and upright and was wanting some pro advice. The style is mostly a more traditional country, with 60's pop influenced songs as well.

Just a quick shout out from a Derailers fan. I couldn't give you an expert opinion on which preamp kit to build for bass, although I think Tim was working on an instrument preamp "D71"? or something like that. In any case, best of luck. Love that Bakersfield-via-Austin sound.
