Pushing the Gain
Posted: Tue Apr 28, 2009 10:04 pmI just built my first 2 pairs of SCA Pre's a12's and N72's and after only having them a day, I love em! I'm hooked. My question is with the N72 I noticed that I can crank the gain to lets say 9 or 10 and back off the fader nob, which seems to give the pre a nice warm character. I noticed that the T15 can also be wired as a fader nob, as opposed to a 6 DB trim, I was wondering if increasing the gain on the T15 and then backing off the fader give's this pre-amp any "interesting characteristics".
For the record I do realize that it's the transformer your pushing on the N72 and this one has no transformer.
