Electrolytic Capacitors

Postby thestuckup » Sat Jan 12, 2008 9:19 pm

In the bom for c4 and c7 are 4.7uF/63V. I received one of these but my other one is a 4.7 uF/100v. I assume this is ok? As it is saturday night and I don't expect a reply soon I would appreciate replies from anyone who has more knowledge about electronics than myself or anyone who has had the same experience

63v or 100v states the maximum voltage that the capacitor can withstand.
I don't think there's any harm in installing either since the voltages in your unit will hardly surpass 30v.
You only have to pay close attention in installing them with the correct polarity.
Please correct me anyone if i'm wrong.

all the best with your T15

you've probably already got this figured out, but for anyone else, i had the same issue and tim replied to an email really quick. they should be the same but 63v and 100v in this situation is interchangeable. being new at this and not having the stuff in front of me, not sure about the polarity on these, i think so, but can't confirm. the manual was pretty clear on making sure to get that point across when needed.

on another note, i used my recently built 2 T15s on a project last week and came out really really happy. don't have much high end to compare to but sound better than anything i've had so far and can tell a huge difference in the mix as for how things feel together. these were the first things electronic i've ever built and was pretty jittery about it but came out great first time around! planning some a12s real soon...like really soon! ;)

thanks!
