Silly PS01 resistor question

Postby SoundBase » Tue Apr 05, 2005 7:16 am

Hi folks,
When I first build the ps01 I install the 750 ohm resistor for R7 as listed in the BOM. However when I later got to last page of the instructions, it mentuiond that I need a jumper if I'm going to be using the pilot light supplied with the chassis (which I am). So why did I originally install the 750 ohm resistor ? Is this meant for a standard 4v LED if you are not using the SCA chassis ?
Just a little confused...

Thanks,
Chuck Hanning

R7 limits the current through the pilot lamp and its value depends on what lamp you use. If you set up the supply for +27V output and use a standard jumbo red LED, R7 = (27 - 1.2)/0.025 = 1032.
