Couple questions about testing?/

Postby Nisso27 » Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:52 am

Hey all im almost done with my first A12 all i need to do is get a smaller wire stripper for the transformer. Then im on to testing and some questions 1) Should i have the op-amp installed before testing or wait for step 23 2) Where do i get a bi-polar DC power supply? and if not must i create the wiring harness to test before testing?? 3) Step 20 to 23 are these all done with power coming into the unit?? (obviously not the connecting things but the testing parts) thanks again

follow the instructions precisely - i.e. do your first testing without installing the op amp. as for the DC power source - that is what your PS03 is! just wire up the harness and connect the A12 to the PS03.

again - follow the instructions closely.

Ive tested the pins with kilohms and megohms and my meter just reads 0.F, Ive had a few numbers flash fast but much to quick to read. Im not even sure which side is pin 1 - 2 etc is it 1 at op amp side to 6 at xlr side or other way around??? I have no solder bridges and everything is correctly placed so not sure why im not getting a steady reading only a quick flash of number here and there, did that like 3 times out of the 20 times if tried to figure it out any help???

Ok ok i used the + on pin 1 and - on pin 2 and get 4.75 megohm and on pin 2-3 i get about the same. So if 1 megohm = 1 million ohm then im good to go right?? cause im getting very high resistence ??
