a Few stumbles, help please...

Did my first A12 yesterday. Most went well, but I got a little confused on some things, figured it out, and fixed it.... In the process I had to remove R29 and R19 (trim pots) and had to switch them because I didn't pay attention to that step, I put them in backwards. Would they still be good, or should I get new ones? It looks like the pins may have pulled-out from the encasing slightly... I put it on my DMM and it looks the same as the non-hacked one. Can I find these at Radio Shack if i do need to replace them? If that's not a good source, please suggest one.

Also, these Opamp connectors - push in fully? How far do I push them in? I got nervous that I was going to break something, so I stopped before the "lip" things.... I noticed a few other pictures that looked like they were pushed-in all the way to the top "lip" thing.... They soldered in fine and seem stable, but it's not very clear in the instructions...

Also, that Stop pin and sticker for the gain pot, not sure..... I assume the stop pin goes inside the little hole.... all the way in? And, just put that gold sticker right on top of the hole? The sticker is very big, should I just cut it down so it just covers that hole for the pin?

Okay, that's all for now. I hope to have my 2 other A12's built and installed today!! Then, the N72.....

I built the rest of my A12's and figured out the Mill Max recepticles... they went all the way down just fine, so nevermind there... should I fix my 1st one and push them fully down with a hot iron?

Now, I do really need to know if I fried these trim pots, or if they'll be alright from soldering, desoldering and pulling them away from the board... (I guess I could compare with the 2 that are fine...) Just wanted to know 1st before I re-solder them again (and risk having to remove them again because they got burnt or too hot, or the pins got pulled out).

I assume the stop pin sticker just gets cut down and covers the hole.... right???

Yes, but be careful to not plug the sockets with solder.

If they work, they work. In other words, if the overall resistance measures within tolerance and the wiper can be adjusted to give the proper voltages, leave them alone.

I don't understand the confusion. The sticker covers the front of the switch body. It's supposed to cover all the holes, not just one. There's a photo of the switch in the N72 instructions that may be helpful.

The sticker I got is a circle far too big to cover the hole that the pin goes into. Now I am confused again... it's supposed to cover all the holes.... OH, so, I use the outer portion, not the cirlce sticker.... geeze.... sorry, sometimes it takes me a few times to "get it"....

That's right. Be sure to use the correct hole, I experimented with a piece of wire before committing.

Oh great! They're supposed to cover all the holes?!? Will it matter if I just covered the one? I was going by the picture in the instructions... Not sure if i can find the proper stickers 'cuz I probably threw them in the trash. I also placed the pin in the same hole in the picture in the instructions... I really hope that's the correct hole!! (heh heh, that sounds funny!!)

No, it doesn't matter if you cover only one hole. You cover the hole so the pin doesn't fall out.

Alright, cool!! I just cut a section of the sticker to cover just that hole and it worked fine, so no problems there! I also double-checked the stop pin location and it meets up with the last position on the gain knob.
