Can anyone reccomend a splitter to be able to send the output of each preamp to to different sources?

Sounds like a patch bay - describe exactly what you're trying to do.

I want to send an output of the preamp to a line mixer and another output to my converters. It is very important that the line to the converters is not degraded in any way. What is the cheapest device to do tis?

Yup, use J6. It's 6db down from the other, but it should be discrete and not load the normal output when both are attached at the same time.....

Unless I'm an idiot.

Which is likely.

PW - J6 refers to an extra tap on the output transformer, led out to a pair of pins marked J6 on the board.

Yes, J6 should be perfect for this. Note:
- it's unbalanced, probably not a problem going to the line mixer
- needs some holes drilled to bring the signal to the outside
- isn't available on the other 7th Circle modules

The signal at j6 can balanced or unbalanced depending on how you reference ground. It is, however, 6dB down and would require an additional switch if you wired it balanced and needed polarity control.
