I have another DIY pre that I built, and also tried out for the first time tonight...it sounds very good and clean and full but...the J99 has an extra "presence" or immediacy, and warmth, lacking in my other pre...
So much so that the singer I was working with was also blown away, and she has recorded at major studios!!
Anyway, I just wanted to give a huge double thumbs up for the J99, and a thanks to Tim for the design and superb kit and support.
Thanks!!! I will be ordering many, many more kits from you!!
