62/36/2 Solder?

Postby jmettam » Sat Nov 13, 2010 8:40 am

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to using this solder with SCA kits as opposed to 63/37?

It's what I happen to have on hand and have used for plenty of other kits but I am just wondering if there are any long term differences. My understanding is that the 2% Silver is better for contact pads that contain silver. I assume that the SCA PCBs use tin.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks

John

Silver and lead-free alloys are fine but harder to work with.
