i've completed one rack with 3 N72's 3 A12's and 2 J99's. this rack was set up to do a drum kit and anything else i need for over dubbing.
but now i'm out of kits and i'm feeling the itch to start a second rack. this time i want to address line inputs of synths, bass, and any other line instrument. mixing will still be done on my desk (d8b) but i'd like to upgrade the inputs for tracking.
i read in the N72 thread that you can put together a little 3 resistor buffer for the input to allow the N72 to act as a line input. i've also gathered that you can plug into the D11 and from that into any of the mic pres.
so i'm wondering what advantages i'd get from going D11 -> mic pre over just building a buffer circuit for a mic pre.
the D11's are pretty cheep so i'm leaning towards that route.
thanks!
