final testing and calibrating the B16

Postby PJD3 » Sat Jan 21, 2012 9:34 pm

Hi. For those of you who have build and calibrated your B16, can you explain how you connected your input signal and output meter? Did you use just one side of the balanced input and output? Im trying to understand if it should be a full balanced connection or, if we are just expected to use just the + pin of the balanced input and, what the impact on measurements may or may not be. I feeel like I need to clarify this before I can move on and trust the output measurements.

Thank you,

PHil

You must apply signal across pins 2 and 3 of the input connector and take the output signal across pins 2 and 3 of the output connector. If you have an unbalanced source or load, connect pin 3 to the cable shield.
